It has been a summer to remember—very hot and very dry. We have had 55 days of 100-degree weather, which is good for 4th place since records have been kept (late 1800’s). It is likely that we have seen our last 100-degree day, as our last one is August 26th (average), with the latest ever being October 3rd (1951). Although this is probably the best time of year to use a pool (milder temperatures, pool water is not as hot, etc.), many pool owners have turned their focus to other things (returning to school, football, camping/hiking, etc.) once Labor Day arrived. A Look Back to a Brutally Hot Summer and A Look Forward to Fall Pool Use

Needless to say, it was a summer to remember when it comes to heat, and oftentimes it was even too hot to be outside enjoying the pool. With that being said, we have likely seen our last 100-degree day for this summer and have now entered what is likely the best time of year for outdoor activities—the fall. Many who like spending time outdoors agree that fall in the north Texas area is hard to beat for weather. An important feature of the kitchen was a large pizza oven I ordered that from delivery to installation added a lot of complexity to our project.  Bill, our project manager, handled every challenge I threw at him with patience and grace.  There was some minor damage to the oven during shipping and before they installed it Bill spent a week hunting down replacement tile to repair the damage so I’d never know the difference.  The oven looks perfect!  Every member of every crew they had at our house were very skilled professionals but I must give a special thanks to their stonemasons, Jesus and Osvaldo.  The fireplace they created for us is gorgeous.  We couldn’t be happier with our new patio and I can’t recommend Gohlke Pools enough.

Gohlke did a great job building us an outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven and remodeling our large patio including resurfacing the concrete.  Always on schedule, all over the worker were a class act. Bill supervising the job was a real pro and great to deal with.  Placing a 3000 pound oven was a challenge and they made it look easy. Real attention to detail. This is a great company!

It’s a huge investment, and you want to feel confident and comfortable with your decision.
