Every since the Denton Record Chronicle established the “Best of Denton” awards, Gohlke Pools has won first place.
The Gohlke name has become synonymous with swimming pools in the years since it started in 1958, when Gene Gohlke built one of the first residential swimming pools in Denton. A nationally recognized pool builder, Gohlke Pools designs, builds, services and repairs pools in the North Texas region.
Best of Denton County
Gohlke Pools received the 2017 Best of Denton County Award from Murray Media Group for Best Swimming Pool Remodelers.
Pool Renovations is a service that Gohlke Pools offers many customers in Denton, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Argyle and throughout Denton County.
Aqua Magazine Hall of Fame
Gohlke Pools received what is considered the most prestigious award in the pool industry when inducted into the Hall of Fame by Aqua Magazine. The Hall of Fame recognizes swimming pool companies that have consistently demonstrated the highest levels of professionalism and creativity in customer service, workmanship, store design, promotions, advertising, and product knowledge.
UNT Family Business Hall of Fame
The University of North Texas recently inducted Gene and Matt Gohlke into the Family Business Hall of Fame. The School’s Department of Management established the Family Business Hall of Fame to honor and recognize Small Business Entrepreneurs.

Small Family Business of the Year
Baylor University’s Institute for Family Business named Gohlke Pools as the Texas Family Business of the Year in 2009.

Aqua 100 Award Winner
For five straight years Gohlke Pools was selected as one of the top 100 companies in the swimming pool industry. This is one of the highest honors that a pool company can receive. The award is based on five areas: customer service, product knowledge, store design, quality craftsmanship, and advertising/promotion. Award winners are selected by a distinguished panel of industry judges.
The Association of Pools & Spa Professionals Design Awards
Gohlke Pools has received numerous design awards presented by the Association of Pool &Spa Professionals, and won the coveted International Gold Medal at the 2005 APSP International Convention in Orlando, FL.
Alternative Gifts Fair – Matching Sponsor

Memberships, Certifications & Special Training
Aquatech Pool Society
Gohlke Pools is the only member of the Aquatech Pool Society in Denton County. The Aquatech Pool Society is a national organization comprising the finest swimming pool builders in the United States. Membership is by invitation and is granted only to those builders who demonstrate state of the art technology in design construction, reliability, credibility, integrity, and superior workmanship.
The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals
Gohlke Pools is a member of the APSP, an international organization that sets standards and regulations for the pool and spa industry.
APSP Certified Building Professional
APSP Certified Building Professionals have successfully completed an extensive course of study involving the latest information and technology in the business of pool construction. In addition, the Certified Building Professional has made a long-term commitment to continue their education with regular additional training. The designation is based on knowledge in the following areas: technical competence, financial competence, customer relations, and commitment to workmanship standards.
American Concrete Institute
Gohlke Pools is a member of the American Concrete Institute. For over 90 years, the American Concrete Institute (ACI) has been servicing the needs of professionals interested in the field of concrete. ACI provides the latest technology and information in concrete design and construction.
Denton Chamber of Commerce
Gohlke Pools is a member of the Denton Chamber of Commerce and involved in many areas of the community.
American Heart Association – Certified CPR Instructor
Gohlke Pools is concerned about pool safety, and especially how this relates to children. As a service to the community, we offer CPR classes by a certified American Heart Association instructor. To register for “CPR for Family and Friends,” please call us at (940) 384-7665.
NSPF Cerified Pool/Spa Operator
Most of the Gohlke Pools staff members are CPO certified. CPO certification courses are designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. The Certified Pool/Spa Operator certification program has delivered more training than any other program in the pool and spa industry since 1972, resulting in more than 282,000 successful CPO® certifications in 64 countries. Many state and local health departments accept the CPO® certification program.
Grant Gohlke, a member of the Gohlke team, is also a CPO instructor. Instructors receive comprehensive training and certification to teach the CPO certification program.
