How to Spookify Your Hot Tub for Halloween

Halloween is around the corner, and incorporating your hot tub into the decor setup is an excellent way to utilize your backyard space. Whether you use your hot tub as a decorative centerpiece with food and beverages stationed around the sides, or you decide to have a Halloween hot tub party, there are tons of creative ways to get your hot tub ready for the spooky season.

Here are a few creative tips to get your spa area Halloween-ready.

Hot Tub Massacre

You can easily set up your hot tub to look like a bloodbath has ensued without using a dye that could stain your tub’s shell. Simply turn your red LED lights on and add plastic skeletons, bones, and/or body parts in or around your hot tub. For a more blood-red appearance, try adding submersible red LED lights.

Witch’s Brew

Turn on your purple or green LED lights and add plastic eyeballs, frogs, skeleton bones, and/or body parts into your hot tub’s water. For a more witchy vibe, place a fog machine near the hot tub to create a smoking cauldron effect.

Spooky Spiderwebs and Lighting

Spiderwebs are an easy go-to-choice when spookiefying your spa space. Hang the spiderwebs above the hot tub and add a few plastic spiders. To create a ghostlier scene, add glowsticks to black and orange balloons before you inflate them, and either place them around or hang them near (not over) your hot tub. This same technique can be used with other creepy items for more variety.

Be Prepared for Freezing Weather

Thus far we have seen a mild winter, but most likely we will see another significant freeze or two before spring. Extreme cold for us and pool equipment is low 20’s and below and prolonged freezes where we don’t get above freezing for 24 hours or longer. Damage due to freezes can be very expensive, so please take the following precautions before any significant freeze: Make sure the pool is filled before the freezing weather gets here. Frozen hoses and faucets make it difficult to fill the pool during freezing temperatures. Check your pump(s) for operation, they are what prevent freeze damage. It happens every year. People are drowning in lakes and swimming pools in the metroplex and beyond. The American Heart Association provides the following as some basic steps to prevent drowning: Supervise children who are near water (including bathtubs and swimming pools) at all times. Watch Those Snakes!

In the pool business, we are fairly accustomed to dealing with animals in swimming pools-mice, rats, frogs, crawfish, turtles, armadillos, and even an occasional skunk. DFW Freezing Weather Information

We really do not know much about what type of winter that we will be experiencing. The Old Farmer’s 2020 Almanac says the following about what will happen in what they call Region 11, which includes north Texas: Winter will be milder and drier than normal, with below-normal snowfall in places that normally receives snow. The coldest periods will be in mid-to-late November and early January and from late January into early February. Light and replaster. Bill was the project manager and couldn't ask for anyone better.  I was nervous about the project but after one visit he had my complete trust.
Everyone has been so professional and knowledgeable.  I love my pool.  Can't thank everyone enough.  Special thanks to Gary, Bill, Dale, Eli, all the pool cleaners Aaron, Miguel (a couple more).

I was very skeptical if it would actually work in this Texas heat. I have zero shade trees. Decided to just do it and it’s amazing!! Our pool went from feeling like bath water to COLD! We run it at night and that’s it. Did not raise my electric bill like I thought either. Install was amazing. Customer service was and is amazing! If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

We buy all of our supplies from them! They are very friendly in the store. I've had a few issues with repairs they've done for me, like tile replacement. I wasn't really satisfied with it but they do always try to make it up in other ways.
They fixed this area about 3 years ago.  I didn't feel that the guy really knew what he was doing. It didn't really look good at all. I called and he came back to fix it but within a year it started coming off again. I don't think the right grout was used. The original pool has been on there for 30 years so I don't know why the repair wouldn't last longer than a year or 2.

They are courteous and attentive. They listen carefully to issues or questions we have and take time to give us informative responses.

He tried a couple of repairs but were unsuccessful. Korbin told me about spa removal and we made the decision that it was time for our hot tub to go.
A week later Korbin and some other techs arrived on time and the spa was removed in less than an hour. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
