As you can imagine, there is tons of information on the internet concerning swimming pools. Following are several that I have visited and feel might beneficial to those considering purchasing a swimming pool or those of you that already have a swimming pool.

Planning a Swimming Pool

www.unitedaquagroup.com Aquatech is a society of pool building professionals. This is a good web site to visit to get general information if you are planning on building a swimming pool.

www.aquamagazine.com Aqua Magazine is a magazine of the swimming pool industry. It contains general and specific information as well as links to other pool-related web sites.

www.poolsearch.com This is a consumer guide to the swimming pool and hot tub industry which covers virtually every aspect of pool ownership.

www.phta.org This web site has many of the award-winning pools that have been honored at the annual Expo of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals.

www.gohlkepools.com I might be a bit biased, but this web site should be useful in your pool planning.

Pool Houses & Gazebos

www.summerwood.com This is the web site of Summerwood Products. They are designers of pool houses and gazebos and sell ready-to-assemble kits.

For Existing Pool Owners

www.poolspaliving.com Pool and Spa Living is a consumer pool and spa magazine. This web site has on-line news and articles about current and upcoming issues.

www.anchorinc.com Anchor Industries is a pool cover company that manufactures mesh and solid covers that anchor to the pool deck.

www.pentairpool.com Pac Fab has been an industry leader for over 25 years and has recently grown to be one of the largest pump and filter manufacturers in the swimming pool industry. They also manufacture heaters, lights, and control systems.

www.jandy.com This is Teledyne Laars/Jandy products. They supply control systems, heaters, valves, and waterfalls to the swimming pool industry.

www.polarispool.com Polaris Pool Systems manufacture top-of-the-line automatic pool cleaners, as well as other products.

www.srsmith.com S.R. Smith is a company that produces diving boards, slides, and rail products.

Swimming Pool Chemicals

www.bioguard.com BioGuard is the leading manufacturer of pool chemicals. This is a very good web site for general pool care information as it has tips and troubleshooting information.

www.americanchemistry.com/industry-groups/chlorine The Chlorine Chemistry Council provides answers to the most commonly asked questions about chlorine and chlorine use.

Safety

www.safekids.com This is the web site of the National Safe Kids Campaign, which among other child safety issues, addresses swimming pool safety.

www.heart.org This is the web site of the American Heart Assocation.

Loving This Great Summer Weather!

What a great weather week we have just had—nighttime temperatures in the low 60’s and highs in the high 80’s/low 90’s with low humidity! Although I would bet that we have 100 degree temperatures ahead of us, thus far it has been great weather, with just two days over 100. Just how many more days over 100 degrees can we expect to have? Obviously, no one knows, but we average 17, but we have had as few a 0 (1906 & 1973) and as many as 71 (2011). To remind you—last summer (2012), we had 34 days over 100 degrees. August is typically our hottest month, with July next and September & June just behind. Therefore the hottest weather of the summer is likely ahead….

Freezing Temperatures Will Be Here Soon: Be Prepared!

With the relatively cold weather that we are currently experiencing, it is a reminder that freezing weather will be here soon—and pool owners should be prepared. The average first freeze occurring in the DFW area on November 22nd. With many weather forecasters predicting a colder and wetter November than we usually have, it is almost certain that freezing temperatures will be here in a matter of weeks, if not days. As the freezing weather approaches, it is important that you know how to prevent freeze damage if your pool has not already been prepared for the freeze. As the weather continues to warm up and swimming pools are getting heavy use, it is time to talk pool safety. We can all agree that we want our swimming pools to be as safe as possible; not only to protect our children but also to protect the neighborhood children. Having layers of protection is the best way to ensure a safe swimming pool (outside of adult supervision). A swimming pool owner should consider using the following layers of protection: Fence – Fences are required around swimming pools within the City of Denton.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gohlke (Gary) replaced my pump with VSP Pentair. I then had them (Dale and crew) come replace the Mastic. Getting great service I had Eli give us a quote come back to replace the Tile, pool
Light and replaster. Bill was the project manager and couldn't ask for anyone better.  I was nervous about the project but after one visit he had my complete trust.
Everyone has been so professional and knowledgeable.  I love my pool.  Can't thank everyone enough.  Special thanks to Gary, Bill, Dale, Eli, all the pool cleaners Aaron, Miguel (a couple more).
Gohlke is now my goto for Pool Care.

Although my home is outside their service area and they were not able to come out to fix my pool’s built-in freeze protection system, Connor was incredibly helpful and generous with his time.

He took the time to review the pictures and information I provided, carefully assess the situation, and explain his diagnosis and possible solutions to me—all without charging me anything. He also went the extra mile by referring me to a company that is closer to my home and may be able to handle the repair.

I truly appreciate Connor’s professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help even though he could not take on the job himself. His generosity and customer service really stood out to me. I was very skeptical if it would actually work in this Texas heat. I have zero shade trees. Decided to just do it and it’s amazing!! Our pool went from feeling like bath water to COLD! We run it at night and that’s it. Did not raise my electric bill like I thought either. Install was amazing. Customer service was and is amazing! If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

They are courteous and attentive. They listen carefully to issues or questions we have and take time to give us informative responses.

Travis has repaired issues with the equipment and is very thorough and will the share information regarding the repairs.

The office staff is equally responsible and pleasant to communicate with regarding billing and any questions we may have.

He tried a couple of repairs but were unsuccessful. Korbin told me about spa removal and we made the decision that it was time for our hot tub to go.
A week later Korbin and some other techs arrived on time and the spa was removed in less than an hour. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
Korbin & the rest of the crew were very good representives of your company.  Thanks for a good experience.

The selection process was not overwhelming. The construction team was there to make sure tasks were completed timely. They continue to help even after the build with questions.
