Pool Season Is Rapidly Approaching

Believe it or not, we were having a mild winter until the great freeze of February occurred. At that point, we had had only had 8 days at or above freezing. But all of that starting changing on February 9th when it hit freezing and didn’t let up for 12 days, reaching a low of -1 on February 16th, which is one of the few times in the last 125 years that it has been below zero. Did You Have Any Freeze Damage This Winter?

Our last freeze of winter 2022/2023 has likely occurred, as the average date of our last freeze is March 13th. It was a fairly typical winter here in DFW, perhaps even considered a fairly mild winter. With that being said, we did have one extended period of time (January 29th-February 2nd) that caused some freeze damage to some pools in the area. Backwashing A Sand Filter

Probably the second most common type of filter in the Denton area is a sand filter. Sand filters are the oldest types of filter—they were used in ancient times. They are typically very reliable and are easy to operate. The concept of a sand filter is fairly simple—sand filters are approximately 2/3 full of sand and any dirt and debris that is larger than the sand is filtered before it reaches the bottom of the filter, where there is a plumbing assembly (consisting of a hub and typically 8 laterals) which collects the water and then it returns to the pool. Cleaning a Cartridge Filter

The filter type that is rapidly growing in popularity is the cartridge filter. The reason that it is becoming more popular is that it is inexpensive, fairly simple to operate, and no backwashing is required. Since no backwashing is required (and thus no water loss), many municipalities prefer that cartridge filters are used to prevent chlorinated water from entering the storm sewer system or the sewer system. Cartridge filters were developed in the 1950’s originally for spas and later for above-ground pools, but are now being used on in-ground pools. This cartridge can filter down to 10-20 microns, which is very small. For example, a grain of salt is approximately 100 microns and the human eye can see down to approximately 40 microns. Hot Weather Pool Care

Here we are again; it is getting hot. As you can imagine, these high temperatures can create problems for swimming pools even when a routine swimming pool maintenance program is followed. Two of the most common pool problems that pool owners experience this time of year due to the heat are cloudy water and algae. Cloudy water due to water chemistry imbalance Low sanitizer (chlorine) levels or high pH levels (above 7.6) can cause cloudy water. Professional pool cleaners know the importance of keeping the pH toward the lower end of the ideal range of 7.2 to 7.6—as chlorine is much more effective as those lower pH levels.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gohlke (Gary) replaced my pump with VSP Pentair. I then had them (Dale and crew) come replace the Mastic. Getting great service I had Eli give us a quote come back to replace the Tile, pool
Light and replaster. Bill was the project manager and couldn't ask for anyone better.  I was nervous about the project but after one visit he had my complete trust.
Everyone has been so professional and knowledgeable.  I love my pool.  Can't thank everyone enough.  Special thanks to Gary, Bill, Dale, Eli, all the pool cleaners Aaron, Miguel (a couple more).
Gohlke is now my goto for Pool Care.

Although my home is outside their service area and they were not able to come out to fix my pool’s built-in freeze protection system, Connor was incredibly helpful and generous with his time.

He took the time to review the pictures and information I provided, carefully assess the situation, and explain his diagnosis and possible solutions to me—all without charging me anything. He also went the extra mile by referring me to a company that is closer to my home and may be able to handle the repair.

I truly appreciate Connor’s professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help even though he could not take on the job himself. His generosity and customer service really stood out to me. I was very skeptical if it would actually work in this Texas heat. I have zero shade trees. Decided to just do it and it’s amazing!! Our pool went from feeling like bath water to COLD! We run it at night and that’s it. Did not raise my electric bill like I thought either. Install was amazing. Customer service was and is amazing! If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

They are courteous and attentive. They listen carefully to issues or questions we have and take time to give us informative responses.

Travis has repaired issues with the equipment and is very thorough and will the share information regarding the repairs.

The office staff is equally responsible and pleasant to communicate with regarding billing and any questions we may have.

He tried a couple of repairs but were unsuccessful. Korbin told me about spa removal and we made the decision that it was time for our hot tub to go.
A week later Korbin and some other techs arrived on time and the spa was removed in less than an hour. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
Korbin & the rest of the crew were very good representives of your company.  Thanks for a good experience.
