Gohlke Family Inducted into UNT Family Business Hall of Fame

DENTON, Texas — The University of North Texas recently inducted Gene and Matt Gohlke into the Family Business Hall of Fame. The School’s Department of Management established the Family Business Hall of Fame to honor and recognize Small Business Entrepreneurs.

The University honored Gene Gohlke of Gene Gohlke Building Products and Denton Masonry Supply for his over 60 years in business in Denton. Gene is a graduate of North Texas and built one of the first swimming pools in Denton in 1958 which launched Gohlke Pools.

Gene’s son, Matt Gohlke is the President and Owner of Gohlke Pools. Gohlke Pools is the premier pool builder in Denton County and is a full-service pool company. In addition to building pools, Gohlke Pools provides pool service and repairs, renovations, hot tubs and has a retail store located on Dallas Drive in Denton. Gohlke Pools is a past recipient of the Texas Family Small Business of the Year and is in the Aqua 100 Hall of Fame.

A 3rd generation of the Gohlke family has recently joined the business. Connor Gohlke had worked at Gohlke Pools during the summers until his recent graduation from the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, Connor joined the company working in the area of new pool design and construction.
