A Commitment from Gohlke Pools for 2025

We always end the year with mixed emotions. We are happy that we get a chance to reflect back on 2024 and we have some great memories, a few successes, and also a few failures. In addition, it allows us to look at the goals that we set and see how we did. Overall, we are pleased with 2024, but we feel that the best version of Gohlke Pools is yet to come.

We are now entering our 67^th year. It was 1958 when Gene Gohlke & Bert Moore thought that Denton was ready for its very own pool construction company. Their passion for high quality construction and high ethics is not forgotten by the current team, and it inspires us to work hard to live up to the standard that they set and to never stop working to get better. Although our current team has more than 400 years of combined pool experience, you need to know that we are not content with who we are as a company, and we never will be. We want to be better and we resolve to do just that in 2025 by doing the following:

We will work to improve the level of service that we provide our clients.
We will communicate better.
We will continue to improve the quality of work that we do and only use proven products.

We hope that your 2025 is everything that you want it to be. May love and laughter fill your year.

Matt has been around the pool business since he was born. When he graduated college in 1984, he joined the family business working for Gohlke Pool Supply. The following year Matt and his father formed a partnership, Gohlke Custom Pools, and started offering pool construction.

When Will it be Warm Enough to Swim?

Ever since the record cold snap that we had in mid-February, many pool owners have been looking forward to some warmer weather, and we are finally getting some. Although pool water temperatures are still around 70 degrees, it will not be long until we can all comfortably swim. What some consider comfortable might still be too cold for others and vice versa—everyone is different. Summer is finally on the Way!

Even with the long, hard winter that we had in the Denton area, we knew that it was just a matter of time before it warmed up. Although summer officially begins this year on Saturday, June 21st, most are already enjoying outdoor activities. Many associate the beginning of summer with when the kids get out of school, which happens in late May or early June for most area schools. We have just received substantial rainfall, especially in the northern part of Denton County. I am thankful for the rain, as it will help fill area lakes, but this much rain at one time can cause problems—even for swimming pools. Following are some tips to help with some issues that you might be having due to this heavy rain: Pool is overflowing— If your pool is overflowing, it is probably a good idea to drain some water. Depending on your pool equipment, there are several different ways that you can drain water from your pool: Multiport valve (also called dial valve) Turn pump off. Swim Almost Year-Round With a Pool Heater

We are coming off of a very hot summer. Following is some data that helps support that claim: With that being said, it has finally begun to cool down some. With these cooler temperatures, average pool water temperatures in the Denton area are definitely dropping—we are now seeing average water temperatures in the high 70’s to low 80’s. According to the National Oceanographic Data Center, 70-78 degrees is where most people feel most comfortable swimming. I am not sure who “most people” are, but from what I have observed, 70-78 degrees is a bit cold for most of us north Texans.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gohlke (Gary) replaced my pump with VSP Pentair. I then had them (Dale and crew) come replace the Mastic. Getting great service I had Eli give us a quote come back to replace the Tile, pool
Light and replaster. Bill was the project manager and couldn't ask for anyone better.  I was nervous about the project but after one visit he had my complete trust.
Everyone has been so professional and knowledgeable.  I love my pool.  Can't thank everyone enough.  Special thanks to Gary, Bill, Dale, Eli, all the pool cleaners Aaron, Miguel (a couple more).
Gohlke is now my goto for Pool Care.

Although my home is outside their service area and they were not able to come out to fix my pool’s built-in freeze protection system, Connor was incredibly helpful and generous with his time.

He took the time to review the pictures and information I provided, carefully assess the situation, and explain his diagnosis and possible solutions to me—all without charging me anything. He also went the extra mile by referring me to a company that is closer to my home and may be able to handle the repair.

I truly appreciate Connor’s professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help even though he could not take on the job himself. His generosity and customer service really stood out to me. I was very skeptical if it would actually work in this Texas heat. I have zero shade trees. Decided to just do it and it’s amazing!! Our pool went from feeling like bath water to COLD! We run it at night and that’s it. Did not raise my electric bill like I thought either. Install was amazing. Customer service was and is amazing! If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

They are courteous and attentive. They listen carefully to issues or questions we have and take time to give us informative responses.

Travis has repaired issues with the equipment and is very thorough and will the share information regarding the repairs.

The office staff is equally responsible and pleasant to communicate with regarding billing and any questions we may have.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Korbin came and looked at our very old Thermospa. We decided that repairs would not be cost effective. He tried a couple of repairs but were unsuccessful. Korbin told me about spa removal and we made the decision that it was time for our hot tub to go.
A week later Korbin and some other techs arrived on time and the spa was removed in less than an hour. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
Korbin & the rest of the crew were very good representives of your company.  Thanks for a good experience.

The selection process was not overwhelming. The construction team was there to make sure tasks were completed timely. They continue to help even after the build with questions.
