5 Alternatives for Dealing with the Leaves Falling into your Pool
ByMatt Gohlke October 23, 2019

The combination over the past few weeks of the lower temperatures and the high winds have definitely changed the lives for pool owners who have trees — as the leaves are now falling! What can a pool owner do to combat the leaf problem? Short of cutting the trees down (please don’t do this), following are some suggestions to help: Mesh covers Mesh covers have become increasingly popular in recent years. Mesh covers allow water to pass through but catch the leaves. Although the leaves will still have to be removed from the top of the mesh cover, the cover keeps the majority of the leaves from getting into the pool. A properly installed mesh cover (which resembles a trampoline-look over your pool) allows you…

How to Select a Contractor
ByMatt Gohlke March 4, 2021

There are many very good contractors in the area, but there are others who are not reputable and likely do not have the knowledge and/or financial resources necessary to be a contractor. Unfortunately, the growth in the area is resulting in unqualified contractors entering the market. Currently, there is much more work than there are contractors to do the work. This combined with the fact that the state of Texas has minimal licensing or bonding requirements for building contractors can make it risky to hire a contractor. This oftentimes result in an unhappy customer and even sometimes results in litigation. How can you avoid this potential problem and select the right contractor? Speaking from experience, by doing your research. Several times over the years I…

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve had the opportunity to have Joey Gallagher service my hot tub several times. He has always treated his customers with courtesy, professionalism, respect and genuine care he shows to them. I’ve learned quite a lot from him about the hot tub. I would definitely recommend him to any of your customer base.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gohlke (Gary) replaced my pump with VSP Pentair. I then had them (Dale and crew) come replace the Mastic. Getting great service I had Eli give us a quote come back to replace the Tile, pool
Light and replaster. Bill was the project manager and couldn't ask for anyone better. I was nervous about the project but after one visit he had my complete trust.
Everyone has been so professional and knowledgeable. I love my pool. Can't thank everyone enough. Special thanks to Gary, Bill, Dale, Eli, all the pool cleaners Aaron, Miguel (a couple more).
Gohlke is now my goto for Pool Care.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience speaking with Connor from Gohlke Pools. Although my home is outside their service area and they were not able to come out to fix my pool’s built-in freeze protection system, Connor was incredibly helpful and generous with his time.

He took the time to review the pictures and information I provided, carefully assess the situation, and explain his diagnosis and possible solutions to me—all without charging me anything. He also went the extra mile by referring me to a company that is closer to my home and may be able to handle the repair.

I truly appreciate Connor’s professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help even though he could not take on the job himself. His generosity and customer service really stood out to me. I highly recommend Gohlke Pools, and especially appreciate the assistance I received from Connor!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I contacted these guys for a chiller to be installed for my Inground pool. I was very skeptical if it would actually work in this Texas heat. I have zero shade trees. Decided to just do it and it’s amazing!! Our pool went from feeling like bath water to COLD! We run it at night and that’s it. Did not raise my electric bill like I thought either. Install was amazing. Customer service was and is amazing! If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

Evan and Anthony from Gohlke Pools installed a device to regulate the pool's water level for our pool
(a fill-o-matic). In hot afternoon summer sun they both worked diligently to get it done.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have worked with several people at Gohlke. Evan, Daniel and Cody for pool maintenance and repairs. They are courteous and attentive. They listen carefully to issues or questions we have and take time to give us informative responses.

Travis has repaired issues with the equipment and is very thorough and will the share information regarding the repairs.

The office staff is equally responsible and pleasant to communicate with regarding billing and any questions we may have.

Gohlke is a good company to work with.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Korbin came and looked at our very old Thermospa. We decided that repairs would not be cost effective. He tried a couple of repairs but were unsuccessful. Korbin told me about spa removal and we made the decision that it was time for our hot tub to go.
A week later Korbin and some other techs arrived on time and the spa was removed in less than an hour. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
Korbin & the rest of the crew were very good representives of your company. Thanks for a good experience.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team has been amazing in the entire pool process came up with a design I just love for my backyard. The selection process was not overwhelming. The construction team was there to make sure tasks were completed timely. They continue to help even after the build with questions. I continue to use them for the cleaning after the build. They know the pool and they are keeping it amazing each time I walk outside.
