The Water is Starting to Warm Up
The air temperature is finally starting to warm up, which means that swimming pools are also warming up. Each week we check pool water temperatures in the Denton area. This week the pool water temperature is between 72-76 degrees, which is the warmest that we have seen thus far this year.
Since we maintain hundreds of pools, monitoring water temperature is very important, as we know that pool care and attention to water chemistry becomes more important as the water temperatures increase. In addition, most agree say that temperatures need to be 60 degrees or higher for algae to grow—and we have found that to be true.
The bottom line: The water has warmed up to a point that algae is growing if you neglect your pool, therefore now is the time to begin preparing your swimming pool for the summer. Having a clear, sparkling pool is often the result of getting an early start and then being consistent in caring for your pool for the remainder of the season.
