A Commitment from Gohlke Pools for 2024

We always end the year with mixed emotions. We are happy that we get a chance to reflect back on 2023 and we have some great memories, a few successes, and also a few failures. In addition, it allows us to look at the goals that we set and see how we did. Overall, we are pleased with 2023, but we feel that the best is yet to come.

2023 was a very special year for us—we celebrated our 65th anniversary. It was 1958 when Gene Gohlke & Bert Moore thought that Denton was ready for its very own pool construction company. This special anniversary allows us to reflect back on all of the hard work done by our predecessors, led by our company founders Gene Gohlke & Bert Moore. This inspires and challenges us to be around for another 65 years. You need to know that we are not content with who we are as a company—we want to be better and we resolve to do just that in 2024 by doing the following:

We will work to improve the level of service that we provide to our clients.
We will communicate better.
We will continue to improve the quality of work that we do.

We hope that your 2024 is everything that you want it to be. Happy New Year!

Matt has been around the pool business since he was born. When he graduated college in 1984, he joined the family business working for Gohlke Pool Supply. The following year Matt and his father formed a partnership, Gohlke Custom Pools, and started offering pool construction.

How About This Weather?

How about this cool weather that we are having? It feels great to walk out in mid-September to temperatures in the 50s. But believe it or not, pool water temperatures are still warm and we have several more weekends before the really cold weather gets here. Pete Delkus of WFAA Channel 8 reported the following last night: The average date for the first freeze – November 22nd The earliest date for the first freeze – October 22nd (1898) The latest date for the first freeze – January 4th (1972) Therefore we know that we probably have 5-14 weeks before the first freeze. 100 Degree Weather Facts for the DFW Area

It seems to have been a fairly mild spring/summer thus far, but before long it will be 100 degrees and rainfall will likely become a distant memory. You might recall that last summer was way below average as far as 100-degree days are concerned—we only had 7 days of at least 100 degrees (we average 20). That begs the question: How hot will it be this summer? While we all know that it is very difficult to predict the weather, I recently read the following statement from Jesse Hawila, senior meteorologist for WFAA: All summers in North Texas are hot…but this one may be particularly hot. Coronavirus (COVID-19) & Swimming Pools/Hot Tubs

With the recent news about Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have fielded several questions about the virus and swimming pools/hot tubs. Following is a statement from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control): According to the CDC, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. Although we do not know what the future brings, we are hopeful that everything will soon be back to normal. In the meantime: Keep calm, wash your hands, and enjoy your pool/hot tub!

May is National Water Safety Month

National Water Safety Month is a campaign that is observed every May in order to raise awareness about drowning prevention and overall water safety. The campaign primarily focuses on educational programs, public service announcements, and other resources (such as posters, safety toolkits, life jackets, etc.) to get the word out. It is coordinated by the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance with support from the American Red Cross, National Drowning Prevention Alliance, National Recreation & Park Association, and the World Waterpark Association.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gohlke (Gary) replaced my pump with VSP Pentair. I then had them (Dale and crew) come replace the Mastic. Getting great service I had Eli give us a quote come back to replace the Tile, pool
Light and replaster. Bill was the project manager and couldn't ask for anyone better.  I was nervous about the project but after one visit he had my complete trust.
Everyone has been so professional and knowledgeable.  I love my pool.  Can't thank everyone enough.  Special thanks to Gary, Bill, Dale, Eli, all the pool cleaners Aaron, Miguel (a couple more).
Gohlke is now my goto for Pool Care.

Although my home is outside their service area and they were not able to come out to fix my pool’s built-in freeze protection system, Connor was incredibly helpful and generous with his time.

He took the time to review the pictures and information I provided, carefully assess the situation, and explain his diagnosis and possible solutions to me—all without charging me anything. He also went the extra mile by referring me to a company that is closer to my home and may be able to handle the repair.

I truly appreciate Connor’s professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help even though he could not take on the job himself. His generosity and customer service really stood out to me. I was very skeptical if it would actually work in this Texas heat. I have zero shade trees. Decided to just do it and it’s amazing!! Our pool went from feeling like bath water to COLD! We run it at night and that’s it. Did not raise my electric bill like I thought either. Install was amazing. Customer service was and is amazing! If you’re on the fence, DO IT!

They are courteous and attentive. They listen carefully to issues or questions we have and take time to give us informative responses.

Travis has repaired issues with the equipment and is very thorough and will the share information regarding the repairs.

The office staff is equally responsible and pleasant to communicate with regarding billing and any questions we may have.

He tried a couple of repairs but were unsuccessful. Korbin told me about spa removal and we made the decision that it was time for our hot tub to go.
A week later Korbin and some other techs arrived on time and the spa was removed in less than an hour. Everyone was helpful and courteous.
Korbin & the rest of the crew were very good representives of your company.  Thanks for a good experience.
